Halle an der Saale – It’s a great place to live!

Halle (Saale) combines urban living with a high quality of life. A diverse range of cultural activities, including opera, theatre and concerts, green recreational spaces along the River Saale and short distances between locations create ideal conditions for work and leisure. Numerous sports and leisure activities encourage an active lifestyle. At the same time, comparatively low rents provide attractive housing and affordable office space. This makes Halle an ideal location – particularly for international professionals, researchers and innovation- and growth-oriented start-ups – where life and work can be perfectly balanced.

Voices from the Weinberg Campus:

The site offers excellent facilities: the laboratories are large enough for us to replicate our entire process exactly as it would take place on an industrial scale. These are precisely the facilities we need.

The Weinberg Campus is a hub for our core area of expertise: biotechnology. It is in this environment that we find highly qualified staff.

The Weinberg Campus offers us premises that are perfectly tailored to our business, with the potential for further expansion. And the network, which has already been a great help to us, is certainly not to be underestimated.

We started out here with two offices and a laboratory, and have gradually taken on more space – we now have just under 20 people at the site. The great thing is that we’ve always been seen as part of the TGZ and have always been supported.

I’ve been working in this building since 2001, but my entire working life has been spent at the Weinberg Campus. The second reason is the ecosystem here – something you’re unlikely to find anywhere else.

The advantages of the location are quite clear: the network that has developed over the years, and the very cooperative and receptive local community. This is a major advantage, particularly when it comes to growth and scaling.

The building is designed in such a way that it creates a sort of networking effect, and we may also be able to draw on the technologies developed by the other start-ups and integrate them so that we can achieve success together.

    The Weinberg Campus is expanding.

With GRW funding for the site.

Thanks to GRW funding (the Joint Task ‘Improvement of the Regional Economic Structure’), the extension to the Innovation Hub is becoming a reality. GRW funding is used specifically to offset locational disadvantages, create new jobs and strengthen regional prosperity – key objectives of German structural policy. This is creating an even more effective innovation ecosystem for start-ups and businesses at the Weinberg Campus. So that the whole of Germany is #ZukunftRegion.
